We're rolling out our latest updates to Article Galaxy and Article Galaxy References, delivering even more tools and features to improve your research workflow.
Key Updates For Administrators
Introducing Admin Analytics Dashboard
Our new Admin Analytics Dashboard provides platform administrators with comprehensive insights into their organization's research activities. This powerful tool delivers:
- Transaction Analytics: Track Open Access, PDF Library deliveries, subscription and token purchases, and other purchased content.
- Spending & Usage Metrics: Monitor total spend, transaction volumes, and delivery turnaround times with flexible timeframe filtering.
- User Engagement Analysis: Identify active users, track platform activity, and measure engagement across Re-Use Rights checks, searches, and document interactions.
- Exportable Reports: Download analytics in PNG, XLS, or CSV formats for easy sharing with stakeholders.
This data-driven dashboard helps administrators evaluate platform usage, monitor spending, and identify optimization opportunities through an intuitive interface.
Redesigned Client Admin Homepage
The redesigned Client Admin Homepage offers a more intuitive experience with:
- Improved Navigation: Clear organization of key sections including product updates, tutorials, and support interactions.
- Dynamic Content Access: Direct links to release notes, blog posts, press releases, and support resources.
- Enhanced Video Tutorials: Immediate access to product tutorials through an improved video interface.
This user-friendly redesign makes valuable resources more discoverable and reduces the time needed to access essential information.
Self-Service Supplementary Materials Upload With Security Features
Administrators can now upload supplementary materials directly in ZIP format for PDF Library, Tokens, and Bounceback Queue without opening a support ticket. This enhancement includes:
- Simplified Workflow: Direct upload capability eliminates the need for manual support intervention.
- Built-in Security: Automatic malware scanning protects your organization and users from potential threats.
- Reduced Processing Time: Significantly faster processing compared to the previous support ticket workflow.
This self-service approach saves valuable time while maintaining robust security protections.
Clearer File Upload Messaging For Administrators
We've refined the messaging for the orders file upload process within the Client Admin UI. Technical terminology has been removed and replaced with user-friendly language across the Bounceback queue, Token queue, and Office Hours queue.
This update eliminates confusing technical terms and bracketed words, creating a more intuitive experience. These improvements help administrators complete file uploads more efficiently and with greater confidence.
Article Galaxy Updates
Auto eSource Setup For American Psychological Association Content
We've implemented automatic e-sourcing for journals and books published by the American Psychological Association (APA). This configuration leverages IP access to optimize order fulfillment for APA content hosted on Atypon's Literatum platform. This automates the eSourcing process, delivering faster content access to users and efficiently handling the 50+ monthly orders for APA materials. This change significantly improves the delivery experience for frequently accessed APA content by reducing manual processing and providing more reliable access to essential research materials.
Improved Navigation For "Get Another Article"
The "Get Another Article" button now links directly to the home page search function instead of the Order Form. This improvement allows users to start a new search immediately after placing an order, eliminates unnecessary navigation between ordering and searching, and makes finding and ordering additional articles more intuitive. This navigation change creates a smoother research workflow for users who need to access multiple articles.
AI Summarization Rights Management For Elsevier Content
For organizations with appropriate licensing, we've added a new Intended Use category for AI Summarization of Elsevier content. Options appear only when granted by your organization's licensing agreements, ensuring compliance.
Direct integration into the Re-Use Rights interface simplifies the acquisition process, while dynamic display of options based on granted permissions ensures proper adherence to licensing terms.
Self-Service Order Cancellation
Users now have greater control over their orders with our new self-service cancellation feature. Researchers can automatically cancel orders if the PDF hasn't been delivered yet, or submit a "Request to Cancel" for already delivered PDFs. The improved process features clear button language and an intuitive interface that reduces the need for support assistance.
This update empowers researchers with better order management while respecting business rules for third-party processing.
Article Galaxy References Updates
PDF Thumbnails At The Citation Level
Citations now display PDF thumbnails in the article details section, providing visual recognition to quickly identify and confirm document content. Users can click the thumbnail to open the document directly in the Annotations Viewer, reducing time spent locating and accessing PDFs in your library. This highly requested feature adds visual context to your citations.
Integrated PDF Annotations From Quick Download
Article Galaxy Pro users can now open documents directly in the PDF Annotations Viewer from Quick Download. This allows researchers to start annotating, highlighting, and commenting immediately after delivery.
Annotations are automatically saved in "My References" and persist when moving documents to other folders, eliminating manual uploading steps and enabling researchers to begin working with documents faster.
Improved De-Duplication For Folders
Our revised de-duplication functionality now analyzes article titles when identifiers like DOIs or PubMed IDs are unavailable. This update allows users to identify duplicate citations even with incomplete metadata, maintain more organized folders regardless of citation quality, and get consistent results even when working with varied citation sources.
Direct Citation Import Via DOIs & PMIDs
Import citations more flexibly by entering or pasting a list of identifiers (DOIs and PMIDs) directly into Article Galaxy References. Users can input a combination of up to 30 DOIs and PMIDs in a single list, with the system automatically fetching and displaying citation details. This approach eliminates the need for pre-formatted citation files, creating a faster and more intuitive importing process.
