Law Libraries Gain New Document Delivery Option and Market Insights eBook

May 15, 2014

Reprints Desk re-launches document delivery service tailored to law firms’ unique concierge needs and provides ebook detailing the market research and development process

Los Angeles, Calif., May 15, 2014 – Reprints Desk, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Research Solutions, Inc. (RSSS), today announced the re-launch of a document delivery research retrieval service tailored to meet the unique needs of corporate law libraries for features such as concierge agent support, rush service, batch ordering and delivery, daily batch processing updates, and 24/7 production.

As part of the re-launch, Reprints Desk published a new ebook ‘Document Delivery Reimagined: Law Firm Librarians Lead the Way’ that details the market insights behind the service re-launch, after acquiring California-based 4 Research Solutions, Inc. in late 2012.  The book is available freely online at reprintsdesk.hs-sites.com/legal.

“As a founder of the original 4 Research Solutions company, I am ecstatic about this exciting new document delivery service reconfiguration” said Shane Hunt, Customer Engagement Manager at Reprints Desk and former co-founder of 4 Research Solutions. “Reprints Desk’s new service offering embodies all of the same features that our former company provided to law firm clients for more than a decade, plus many additional ones that will enable us to scale and still efficiently serve an increased base of law library customers.”

“The law libraries that have piloted this new document delivery service over the last few months have been extremely satisfied,” added Chris Atwood, a sales engineer at Reprints Desk and former co-founder of 4 Research Solutions.  “We put a significant amount of time and resources into ‘voice of customer’ work such as interviews, surveys and focus groups, and supplemented this with data and experience to build what we believe is the most compelling law library document delivery service available today.”

Law firms, particularly those with intellectual property practices, rely on document delivery as a legal method for retrieving single copies of full-text research papers from scholarly peer-reviewed journals when subscriptions do not exist.  Research papers are used to register and protect intellectual property through regulatory registrations, patent filings, lawsuits and other activities as required by their clients.
