Article Galaxy Widget Bolsters Support for Google Scholar, PubMed and Database Tools with New Citation Sharing and Exporting Functionality

Several Enhancements Added, Including the Ability for Users to Bookmark, Securely Share and Export Journal Article Citations.

ENCINO, CA, September 3, 2015 — Research Solutions, Inc. (OTCQB: RSSS), a pioneer in providing on-demand access to scientific, technical and medical (STM) information for life science companies, academic institutions, and other research-intensive organizations, announced today new social connectors and export functionality for Article Galaxy Widget, a time-saving tool from its subsidiary Reprints Desk.  Article Galaxy Widget provides Reprints Desk’s corporate and academic customers with web browser access to scientific, technical, and medical (STM) research articles indexed by more than 50 popular search sites and discovery databases, like Google Scholar, PubMed, ResearchGATE, as well as numerous publisher websites – all from the point of discovery, and without requiring users to navigate away from search results or article abstract pages.

The newest Article Galaxy Widget functionality and features include the ability to open all references on a page that can be bookmarked and securely shared with others; export all references directly to RefWorks® or in RIS format, a format which enables data exchange between popular reference management systems like EndNote®, Zotero® and Mendeley®; open all references in Reprints Desk’s shared library-reference management solution Bibliogo; follow PubMed New and Noteworthy in Bibliogo; and follow a current PubMed search in Bibliogo.

Additional enhancements include:

  • Verified compatibility with Embase, IOP Science, Soutron, and TDNet Discover.
  • A new account setting to control whether Article Galaxy Widget launches with all citations selected or all citations unselected.
  • Support for credit cards (as an alternative to monthly invoicing), which can be used on a transactional basis directly from the Article Galaxy Widget user interface.
  • SAML SSO 2.0 support as an alternative user authentication method to the existing username and password option.
  • Custom customer reference fields now available via a dropdown that can be applied to one, multiple or all selected citations.
  • Customization options for color, logos, web call-to-action (CTA) buttons, and ‘Get Help’ links.

Customers simply launch the Article Galaxy Widget as a browser bookmark while they are viewing any website that references published journal articles. The widget’s intelligent user interface standardizes the search and presentation of full-text articles, and can quickly source content from existing journal subscriptions, Open Access, tokens, past single article document purchases and publishing partners when subscription access does not yet exist. The widget also features quick filtering by source type, instant pricing and a “more like this” function that identifies related scholarly papers.

Corporations, academic institutions, and government organizations around the world rely on Reprints Desk and its online platform Article Galaxy for legal access to full-text scientific, technical, and medical (STM) content. Article Galaxy provides one-stop shopping and lowest cost acquisition of full-text journal articles from nearly any publisher without requiring the use of credit cards for each transaction. Founded by Peter Derycz, also the founder of Infotrieve, Reprints Desk has ranked #1 overall and in each category in a document delivery vendor survey of buyers conducted by Outsell since the company’s inception.
