Los Angeles, Calif., February 20, 2014– Reprints Desk, a document delivery supplier and wholly-owned subsidiary of Research Solutions, Inc. (RSSS), today announced that company President and CEO Peter Derycz has joined the International Advisory Council at the School of Library & Information Science at San José State University (SJSU).
The SJSU information school has been awarding graduate degrees to information professionals for more than 55 years. Today, the School offers two fully online graduate degree programs for information professionals, a fully online post-master’s certificate program for working professionals who want to stay current with emerging trends, and a part-time doctoral program in partnership with Queensland University of Technology - the San José Gateway Ph.D. Program.
“The information age has created a demand for individuals who are adept at organizing, managing, and making sense of large-scale information, and in response our school continues to update its curriculum and prepare our students for expanding career opportunities,” said Sandra Hirsh, Professor and Director of the SJSU information school. “We’re pleased that Peter Derycz will be joining our school’s International Advisory Council, providing valuable insight as we continue to ensure that our programs meet the evolving needs of tomorrow’s information professionals.”
Mr. Deryz commented “San Jose State’s School of Library and Information Science is one of the most cutting edge graduate educational programs in any field. That may seem to be a natural occurrence in California’s Silicon Valley, but it doesn’t happen overnight. Sandy Hirsh’s leadership has been key in the success of this program. I look very much forward to working with her and sharing my knowledge and experience, as well as provide a corporate perspective to the International Advisory Council. It will also be a great privilege for me to get a preview of the future of the information profession as the brightest minds in the field are doing their studies and research there.”
Mr. Derycz previously founded information industry supplier Infotrieve Inc. and was previously named of the 100 most inspiring people in the Life Sciences industry by PharmaVoice Magazine. He also holds nine patents in the US, Europe and Australia, earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California at Los Angeles, and is fluent in English, Spanish, and French.
