Santa Monica, Calif., July 7, 2011 -- Reprints Desk Inc. today announced that it has signed a deal with Oriprobe Information Services, Inc., that enables the company to source and deliver documents from Oriprobe's collection of Chinese, Japanese, Korean and other Asian journals. Reprints Desk and other Derycz Scientific subsidiaries delivered millions of articles to more than 100 countries, including many within Asia, during the last fiscal year in part due to growing demand for Chinese and other non-English content.
"Major multinational corporations are increasingly seeking to consolidate content procurement services with a single supplier like Reprints Desk to meet their needs for any article, in any quantity and any language, at any workforce location," said Reprints Desk's Chief Executive Officer Peter Derycz. "The agreement between Reprints Desk and Oriprobe bolsters our already unique capabilities for meeting the diverse needs of multinational corporations."
"Oriprobe is pleased to collaborate with Reprints Desk to make our valuable journal article collection available to a wider market that is increasingly seeking STM journal articles in Chinese and other Asian languages," said Frank Liu, Oriprobe's Chief Customer Service Officer. "Reprints Desk customers will benefit through this gateway to research materials that now totals over 10,000 journals."
Reprints Desk supports customers' scientific, technical and medical research by providing online ordering and electronic delivery of single copies of peer-reviewed journal articles, commonly known as "document delivery." Customers rely on Reprints Desk's document delivery services to increase utilization of subscriptions and other existing content investments, to avoid unnecessary direct and indirect costs associated with information retrieval, to lower legal risk through improved copyright compliance, and to improve researcher productivity through faster access to content. Reprints Desk announced in June 2011 that it was expanding to serve the Japanese market through a referral agreement it signed with Tokyo-based USACO Corporation.
