Rapid developments resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic are having a significant impact on the research community. Not only are pharma and biotech companies worldwide racing against time to develop vaccines and treatments for the coronavirus, but many researchers and scientists have also had to put their current studies on hold due to lab closures and social distancing rules.

During these uncertain and difficult times, we at Research Solutions are doubling down on our commitment to support the research community in any way we can. Here are some new resources and help we are providing:

COVID-19 Research Viewer Gadget: Our newly released Gadget lets users quickly find and access an up-to-date listing of all COVID-19 scientific literature, across all publishers. The current listing includes nearly 2,000 scientific studies and is growing rapidly. The first iteration of the COVID-19 Gadget also includes an interactive map that lets users click on any location to see current statistics on confirmed COVID-19 cases and mortality rates.

All Article Galaxy customers, regardless of subscription level, can now add the COVID-19 Research Viewer to their Gadgets dashboard free of charge. In addition, anyone interested in COVID-related research (even those without an Article Galaxy account) can view the Gadget’s interactive website.

Our teams are working diligently to add new features, including a quick display of the most requested COVID-19 articles; a comprehensive list of scientific literature portals; a social media filter displaying COVID-19 tweets; and a version of the Gadget for public use, with no login required.

Copyright-Free COVID-19 Access: We have posted (and will continue to update) the list of participating publishers around the world that have committed to making peer-reviewed articles related to COVID-19 available free of charge. In addition, we will provide our customers with swift, no-questions-asked refunds and/or charge reversals for any articles that should be free of copyright charges, but were not initially delivered for free or may have shown a price at time of ordering.

Business Operations: We are continuing to maintain business as usual, with 24/7 on-demand document delivery for digital content. At this time, there is a hold on deliveries from print collections only.

To our customers, team, partners, and shareholders, we commit to being transparent in all of our initiatives related to the COVID-19 pandemic, in all areas involving our technology development, billing practices, activities, capabilities, and limitations. We have created a COVID-19 task force, led by our CEO, to help consolidate, guide, and allocate our resources on this important issue.
