With over 15 years of experience in the software engineering field, Adrian has worked and collaborated on a wide range of projects throughout his career, including e-Banking apps; online sales websites for tech, travel and transport companies; digital media distribution services; TNC systems for public transportation—and now, document delivery and new products within the Research Solutions offering. At Research Solutions, Adrian, executes leadership roles from Sr. Development to Team Management to DevOps.
Alan joined Reprints Desk and parent company Research Solutions in 2011 and has over 20 years of experience in corporate finance and accounting. He has previously served in numerous senior management positions, including: Vice President of Finance and Treasurer for Infotrieve from 2000 to 2004; Chief Financial Officer of a leading online poker company from 2005 to 2006; and Chief Financial Officer of ReachLocal (NASDAQ:RLOC) from 2007 to 2009, an internet marketing company that ranked #1 on Deloitte’s Tech Fast 500 List.
Alan has also held positions as an audit and tax manager in public accounting, and as an internal auditor. He holds a BS in Business, with a concentration in Accounting Theory and Practice, from California State University, Northridge and has been a Certified Public Accountant (currently inactive) since 1998.
Blanca is the Human Resources Manager for the Latin American subsidiary of Research Solutions/Reprints Desk. With over 10 years of HR experience, she assists local and international departments in recruiting new staff and supporting their teams. Blanca’s areas of expertise include organizational development, training, employee relations, and talent acquisition.
Blanca has a Bachelor of Arts from UANL and postgraduate studies in English Language Instruction.
Curt brings over 40 years of document delivery and information services experience to his position at Research Solutions. After operating his own business for over 25 years, he joined Research Solutions in 2007. Mr. Edwards-Neff has served in several positions as the company has grown and is currently the Director of Customer Support. He received a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California at Los Angeles. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking and skiing.
After working in customer service and import/export for 6 years at Grainger, Schneider Electric, and Teleperformance, Eric decided to take a new career path in sales—and joined Research Solutions in 2017. Eric identifies research-driven organizations that can benefit from Research Solutions’ enterprise platform to speed their scientific discoveries. He graduated from the Monterrey Northern University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. In his personal time, Eric enjoys traveling and discovering new places. He also loves playing soccer.
Guillermo Elosúa joined Research Solutions/Reprints Desk, Latin America in 2012. He holds a Public Accountant and Auditor degree from the Universidad Regiomontana in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. With more than 31 years of industry experience, he has worked for leading auditing firms such as KPMG and Deloitte, as well as for companies in the financial and tax industry, , including Grupo Vitro, Accuride de México, Lansgton Companies, PYECSA Construction Division. Guillermo has participated in the implementation of different ERPs, such as SAP, AS400, Hyperion, and more...
Karina has a Bachelor's degree in Genomic Biotechnology and a PhD in Immunology. While studying for her degrees, Karina worked as a researcher in gene therapy and immunotherapy against cancer. Currently, she is part of the software development team at Research Solution, where her main focus is building tools that simplify and accelerate scientific research and development.
Kenji has been with Research Solutions since 2010. In his current role he leverages his business analysis skills to maintain and enhance operations within the technology area, as well as to consult with other departments on issues surrounding process improvement. Kenji has been in the information industry for 20+ years, including roles in front line customer experience and internal operations. For fun, Kenji spends his time playing ice hockey and cards. And he will NEVER turn down a nice, cold craft beer. He is a fan of SciFi classics like The Matrix, Sytar Wars, and all the versions of Star Trek.
Leah has over 17 years of experience in publishing and software with various roles leading and developing marketing teams. Prior to joining Research Solutions, she was at Nature Publishing Group, launching marketing for their open access journals, Nature Communications and Scientific Reports and at PLOS, developing programs including those dedicated towards Early Career Researchers.
Lourdes holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Chemistry with an MSc in Material Science from the UANL, with one article published. She recently completed a diploma course in Quality, and is currently self-learning Japanese. Based in Mexico since 2008, Lourdes manages a team of over 40 people at Research Solutions/Reprints Desk. Her goal is to keep her team motivated to help investigators to reach new frontiers in science.
Marc has 15 years of experience in systems architecture and technology build-out. He is an experienced software developer with strong hands-on management and interpersonal skills.
He has performed full implementation and integration of custom software solutions for clients, including interviewing users, gathering requirements, analysis, design, and documentation. During the past 15 years, Marc has held various technology architecture positions at Infotrieve, Ultralink, and MPDN.
Marco has been with Research Solutions/Reprints Desk since 2008. An industrial chemist, he graduated from the UANL, and earned an MSc in Biotechnology from UAdeC. He was awarded the State Youth Award from the state of Nuevo León in 2005 and the UANL Research Award in 2006. Born and raised in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Marco loves fishing and soccer.d He is married with one child.
Marie has been passionate about learning about, using, and supporting technology since 1992. Her experience in numerous industries includes level 3 PC help desk support, PC desktop support, virus removal, PC desktop and laptop repair, technical documentation, remote PC support, network and server administration, security administration, software license management, and software training. She is dedicated to online security, resolving technical issues quickly and efficiently, and promoting best practices for today's world of global connectivity.
Mario holds a Bachelor's degree in Biotech and a Master’s degree in Nanotech, and has worked on several research projects.. He joined Research Solutions/Reprints Desk in 2016, where he works primarily on projects related to developing research tools. He also works with multiple data science projects oriented to innovations for Article Galaxy.
Michiel has over 15 years of experience in the STM publishing industry and has held various roles in product technology, product development and business development. His most recent role at industry-leading publisher Springer Nature was VP Business Development, managing a team of product owners, responsible for all institutional academic, government & corporate eBooks and journals business models, including the one of the most prestigious scientific journals: Nature.
Prior, he worked at another STM publishing giant, Elsevier in various product management roles. He served as the Interim Head of the Central Public Services Department at the University Utrecht Library for 2 years, where he was responsible for the development of the digital University Library. In his final year in University he was a founding partner of a Dutch web company focused on the design and implementation of internet applications for customers in the Education and Cultural field. Michiel received his Masters in Industrial Design Engineering in 1996 from the Technical University of Delft, The Netherlands, specializing in Business & Product Development.
Melanie began her career at Infotrieve GmbH, serving as Customer Service Manager before being promoted to Director of Operations and Customer Implementation, Europe. She joined Research Solutions in 2015 and currently serves as Key Account and Library Service Manager for customers headquartered in Europe. Working closely with all departments, Melanie strives to not only meet clients’ needs, but to truly exceed their expectations. She holds a BA in Management of Scientific Library from the University of Applied Science in Stuttgart and is a Six Sigma expert with Green Belt certification. In her personal time, she enjoys life at the coast with her daughter, reading, and yoga.
Scientist by training, administrator by conviction. Miriam is passionate about teamwork and the leadership of highly efficient teams, making the impossible possible, and working towards improving the planet every day. She has a degree in Chemistry from UANL and an MSc in Biotechnology from UAdeC. Miram has produced 12 articles, 2 book chapters, and was the first two-time recipient of Nuevo Leon’s Youth State Award, as well as one of the youngest recipients of UANL’s Award for Excellence in Professional Development. She directs the operations of the Latin American subsidiary of Research Solutions, acting as the link between the company’s international teams.
Born and raised in Chico CA, Pete has been in the document delivery industry since 2004 and with Research Solutions/Reprints Desk since 2018. He is happily married and hopes to be starting a family soon. In his free time, he likes to play golf, attend sporting events, watch movies, play with his cat and dogs, and travel.
Peter founded Reprints Desk and parent company Research Solutions in 2006 and has served as its Chief Executive Officer and President since its inception. In addition, Peter is a Director and was Chairman of the Board of Directors through August 2015. A founder of Infotrieve, Inc. in 1989, he served as its President from February 2003 until September 2003. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Puerto Luperon, Ltd. (Bahamas), a real estate development company, from January 2004 until December 2005. He currently sits on the International Advisory Board of the San Jose State University School of Information and was a member of the Board of Directors of Insignia Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:ISIG), a consumer products advertising company from 2006 to 2014. Peter Derycz received a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California at Los Angeles.
For over 20 years, Peter has been actively involved in designing, developing and deploying large library and document management systems that focus on delivering large amounts of information to information users in local and global settings. In the library world, he is known as one of the founders of the “pay-as-you-go” approach to acquiring and delivering scientific information.
Rogier has 12 years of sales management experience at Elsevier, an information and analytics company, and one of the world's major providers of scientific, technical and medical information. In his most recent role, he served as sales director, leading a global team and agent network.
He managed a diverse sales portfolio consisting of four product groups selling to businesses all over the world. In that role, he specialized in information products, input for discovery tools and solutions to optimize and maximize customer workflow. He also served in other senior sales roles in Elsevier and before that, managed sales and operations teams for five years at Renewi (formerly Van Gansewinkel), a leading waste management company operating across Europe.
Rogier earned his degree from the University of Amsterdam and his Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics from Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen. For charity, he coaches start-ups to improve their sales through his involvement in incubator firms Rockstart and ACE.
Scott Ahlberg joined Reprints Desk and parent company Research Solutions in 2006 and has decades of experience in content and startup businesses. Scott Ahlberg started with Dynamic Information (EbscoDoc) in the 1980s, then went on to lead Sales and Marketing at Infotrieve, Inc. during many years of rapid growth in the 1990s. After leaving Infotrieve in 2005 Scott Ahlberg provided consulting services to ventures in professional networking and medical podcasting.
His areas of expertise include strategic planning, operational innovation, copyright and content licensing, and quality management. Scott Ahlberg has degrees from Stanford University (BA, 1984) and the University of London (MA, 1990).
Shane provides leadership resulting in the development of healthy long-term relationships with the Company’s cloud-based software customers, and ensures the daily satisfaction of users across R&D-driven organizations in life sciences, technology and academia worldwide.
He has nearly 20 years of industry experience and was co-founder of 4 Research Solutions Inc., a boutique information industry start-up that the Company acquired in 2012. Shane attended California State University, Chico for his undergraduate and graduate studies in Psychology. In his personal time, he enjoys spending time with his family and coaching youth sports.
Sharon joined Research Solutions in 2017 bringing with her over 20 years of experience in (STM) publishing. As Director of Content Management at Research Solutions, Ms. Büttiker manages the company’s contractual relationships and communicates our value proposition to our broad spectrum of publishers. A natural connector, she helps both society, Open Access and commercial publishers find new audiences for publications. She also supports researchers in their quest to obtain content when and how they need it.
Stefan joined Research Solutions/ Reprints Desk in 2008. He started the European business part of the company, holding roles in new sales, strategic partnership relationship management, and key account manager. Currently, he serves as key account manager for the European top customers, and as trainer for new account managers. Stefan started his career as a trainee at Infotrieve Inc. (now part of the Copyright Clearance Center) in 1994. In 1996, he founded Infotrieve GmbH in Cologne, Germany to serve the European customers, and stayed with the company as general manager until 2001.Afterwards, he has an MBA from the Henley Management College and holds a Certificate in International Trade from the University California Los Angeles (UCLA).
Stefan likes watching and playing sports, attempting to speak Spanish and French, and traveling for both business and leisure.
Todd Everett has over 20 years of experience solving content workflow challenges in collaboration with research-intensive companies. He started his career doing onsite contract work for Pfizer, Inc., managing the global document supply service for the corporate information center. He later managed a portfolio of onsite library staffing contracts, bringing the efficiencies and best practices developed at Pfizer to many Fortune 500 companies. Todd’s ongoing collaborations with corporate information professionals has helped him lead the development and delivery of digital products such as Article Galaxy Widget and Bibliogo, which won the CODiE for Best Online Science or Technology Service.
Tony has worked in the document delivery business for more than 34 years.For six of those years, he owned and operated his own award-winning document service called Pinpoint Documents. He has been an active member of SLA for more than 25 years, at both the local and Association levels, including having served as Program and Hospitality Chair for the San Francisco Bay Chapter. He is currently the SLA Baseball Caucus Convener, which has grown in membership and established an international following. In 2014, Tony became a Fellow of the Special Libraries Association. and is the former Chair of the Pharmaceutical & Health Technology Division. In addition to leading academic business development at Research Solutions/Reprints Desk, Tony is on many panels and webinars, and makes numerous presentations on vendor relations, copyright, literature usage, bibliographic management, and the future of librarianship. He is also active in various information industry organizations, such as ALA and SABR.
